Office of Human Research Protection Program and IRB

The Office of Human Research Protection Program at KHCC aims to protect the rights, privacy and safety of those who participate in medical research conducted at KHCC, and to ensure that all research is of high scientific and ethical value.

Institutional Review Board (IRB)

Affiliated with the Office of Human Research Protection Program, the IRB is an independent committee which aims to protect the rights and safety of research participants.  It does this through continuous ethical review of research and its amendments, and by approving, rejecting, suspending, or completely stopping research in order to guarantee the safety of the participants.

The IRB consists of medical staff, scientists, representatives from the local community, and legal representatives. The IRB meets twice monthly, and works in accordance with the local and international policies.
