Elective Training

The King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) offers an elective training to medical students and trainees (residents and fellows) to enhance their experience in delivering excellent care to cancer patients.

Requirements

Medical Students

  • To be in the 4th, 5th or 6th year of medical school
  • Only students from affiliated universities can apply for the elective program 
  • To obtain a medical school approval; this includes a letter from the dean agreeing to do the elective in the specified time period
  • A CV
  • A Personal photo
  • A copy of the ID / Passport for international students
  • Immunizations: These are mandatory to protect the student and our patients. Here is a list of the required immunization records:
    • MMR (Titer)
    • VZV (Titer)
    • Hepatitis B Surface Antibodies (HBsAb) – (Titer)
    • HIV
    • HCV
    • PPD or chest x-ray

 

Residents and Fellows:

  • A letter from home institution
  • A CV
  • A Personal photo
  • A copy of the ID / passport for international applicants

    • VZV (Titer)
    • Hepatitis B Surface Antibodies (HBsAb) – (Titer)

Duration of Training: A minimum of 2 weeks and up to 3 months.

Applicant must apply no later than 30 days prior to starting their elective training.

 

Elective Training Fees / per working day

For Medical students:

  • National: 30 JOD per working day
  • International: 70 JOD per working day

For Residents/ Fellows:

  • National residents: 20 JOD per working day
  • International: 35 JOD per working day

 

The fees may be covered for medical students whose medical school has an agreement with KHCC.
