The Inauguration of the 8th International Congress of the Jordanian Association of Psychiatrists
Amman – Held under the patronage of HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), the 8th International Congress of the Jordanian Association of Psychiatrists and the Conference on Supporting Mental Health in Gaza were inaugurated together in Amman in the presence of a distinguished group of physicians, experts, and specialists from Jordan and abroad.
Organized by the Jordanian Association of Psychiatrics, the events underscore Jordan’s leading role in advancing mental health services and strengthening responses to growing needs, particularly in light of ongoing regional humanitarian crises.
In this context, Conference President Dr. Alaa Al-Froukh expressed his gratitude to HRH Princess Ghida for her prominent role in supporting the healthcare sector in Jordan and for leading impactful efforts to advance comprehensive care, with a focus on integrating mental health into holistic healthcare systems.
The conferences, which were attended by HRH Princess Rajaa bint Talal, also highlighted Jordan’s continued commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause, including the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of Palestinians in Gaza through vital medical and humanitarian response efforts.
The conferences aimed to foster the exchange of scientific expertise, keep pace with the latest developments in psychiatry, and support regional efforts to develop effective and sustainable mental health policies, ultimately serving communities affected by crises.
