Queen Rania Attends King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s Hope Gala Fundraiser

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah attended the King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s (KHCF) 2023 Hope Gala fundraising event on Monday, which was held in Amman under the patronage of Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania.

The event aims to support projects that sustain the fight against cancer in Jordan and the region, such as the establishment of specialized centers across Jordan under the banner of the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC). These include the upcoming King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Building in Aqaba, and two additional buildings in Amman for pediatric treatment and cancer research.

The gala was attended by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Talal bin Muhammad, special adviser to His Majesty, and Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the KHCC and KHCF, as well as Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh and Former Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam.

During her remarks, Princess Ghida spoke about the foundation and center’s ongoing efforts to ensure accessible cancer care. “We pledge to continue our fight against cancer, recognizing it as an adversary that is both formidable and deceptive, and one we must not tolerate,” Her Royal Highness said.

Throughout the gala, a number of cancer survivors and high-level partners were recognized.
