Queen Rania attends King Hussein Cancer Foundation Hope Gala Event
Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah attended the King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s Hope Gala dinner on Sunday, June 7, 2015. The event was held in celebration of 10 years of achievements of the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC).
To celebrate and support the noble mission of KHCF/KHCC and the KHCC New Expansion Project, a number of Their Royal Highnesses including, HRH Prince Talal Bin Muhammad, Special Advisor to His Majesty the King; and HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) attended the gala dinner KHCC’s new expansion project aims to expand its capacity in providing comprehensive cancer care and to accommodate the growing number of cancer patients from Jordan and the Arab world.
During her speech at the event, Princess Ghida Talal thanked Their Majesties for their dedication to this noble cause saying, “We have all been honored to follow the lead and learn from the King Hussein Cancer Center’s greatest supporters, His Majesty King Abdullah II and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah. Since His Majesty appointed me Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation 14 years ago, I have not once turned to His Majesty for help for the Center, big or small, that he has not responded to immediately, in every possible way. His Majesty is the Center’s protector and watches over it with love and care.”
Princess Ghida also thanked the event sponsors for their generous contributions to the fight against cancer, and their support in helping KHCC/KHCF become a world-class institution.
Over 700 guests and officials attended the fundraising event, in addition to many cancer survivors who have received treatment at KHCC. Their presence at this celebratory event sent a message of hope to all cancer patients that with modern comprehensive treatment, such as that offered by the King Hussein Cancer Center, patients have a greater chance of survival.
