Princess Ghida Talal Launches of a new expedition for climbing Europe’s highest peak in cooperation with the Jordanian climber Mostafa Salameh

Amman, November 2017: HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), announced at a press conference, held at the Intercontinental Hotel, the launch of a new expedition for climbing Europe’s highest peak, Mount Elbrus. The expedition will be launched under the "From the Lowest Point to the Highest Point against Cancer" initiative, led by Jordanian champion climber Mostafa Salameh to raise $1 million for patients at the King Hussein Cancer Center.

During the conference, Princess Ghida said: "We are proud to partner again with the 'From the Lowest Point to the Highest Point against Cancer' initiative led by the Jordanian adventurer and champion Mostafa Salameh by launching a new expedition to Europe's highest peak, Mount Elbrus. This expedition will support cancer patients at KHCC through the donations that will be raised by the initiative's great team."

Princess Ghida also announced the launch of another climbing initiative called "Seven Peaks". The 2018 initiative will be undertaken by a team of students from the International School of Choueifat who will climb the highest peak in the Arab world, the Toubkal Summit in Morocco, to raise funds to support the treatment of cancer patients and raise awareness about the mission of KHCF and KHCC.

Of his initiative, Mostafa Salameh said: "We eagerly look forward to a new experience in the upcoming climbing expedition to Mount Elbrus, to complete what we have started in the fight against cancer during our previous expeditions to the peaks of Mount Everest and Mount Kilimanjaro."

The members of the "From the Lowest Point to the Highest Point against Cancer" initiative are: Khaled Tal, Helen Uzaizi, Hanna Khoury, Hana Bushnaq, Hiba Lamber, Ola Yaseen, Marwa Al Siyabi, Aysar Batayneh, Dina Faidi, Ruwa Al Jarrah, Maisa Shunnar, and Abeer Seikaly.
