Princess Ghida Receives WHO Delegation Joined by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex

Amman – February 2026, Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), received a high-level delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO), led by Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of WHO, accompanied by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, during their official visit to Jordan.

During the visit, Princess Ghida highlighted the pioneering role of KHCC as a regional center of excellence in cancer care, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive approach to treatment that integrates psychosocial and mental health support for patients and their families as an essential component of care.

The delegation also met with patients undergoing treatment at KHCC, including patients from Jordan, Palestine, and Syria, where they learned about their treatment journeys and the comprehensive care services provided by the Center.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and partnership to address regional and global health challenges, and to promote sustainable, inclusive, and resilient healthcare systems.

They also underscored the strong and longstanding collaboration between Jordan and WHO in advancing key health priorities, including progress towards universal health coverage (UHC), strengthening mental health services, and reinforcing health systems.

The discussion further highlighted Jordan’s leading role in the region in health emergency preparedness and response, including humanitarian health action, with the continued support of WHO.
