Princess Ghida launches 7th Arab Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

Amman, October 5th, 2022 – Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), launched the 7th Arab Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, under the slogan “An image for life...get tested”, which aims to spread awareness on the importance of early breast cancer detection and encourage women to perform annual examinations.

In her remarks at the campaign’s launch ceremony, Princess Ghida said: “I call on every woman in our region, from east to west, to make her health a priority, and to never hesitate to perform a mammogram. It could save her life”.

The ceremony included honouring the winners of the KHCF’s 2021 Journalist Award on early breast cancer detection. The winners are: Muna Abu Soboh (Al Ghad Newspaper) in the printed press category, Ohoud Mohsen (Amman.net website) in the digital journalism category, Tala Ayoub (Al Rai Newspaper) in the columnist category, Sondos Khader (Roya TV) in the visual media category, Hashem Hasan (Liqaa FM Radio Station) in the audio media category, and Roula Asfour in the social media category.

For the tobacco control topic, the winners are: Eman Al-Najjar (Al Rai Newspaper) for printed press, Nada Shihadeh (Al Rai Newspaper) for digital journalism, Ikhlas Al Qadi (Ammon News website) for the columnist category, Obaida Al Dmour (Al Mamlaka TV) for visual media, Anas Al Garaleh (Voice of Aqaba Radio) for audio media, Hamza Baibars jointly with Mays Arar for the social media category, and Younes Al Khattabi for the youth category.

A number of officials, doctors, partners, award sponsors, and journalists, attended the ceremony, in addition to the Director General of KHCF.
