King Hussein Cancer Foundation Honors Carrefour Jordan

Amman, 17 December 2017: The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) honored Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, who holds the exclusive franchise rights to operate the Carrefour brand in 38 countries, for its continued support for the KHCF in Jordan. The ceremony was held in the presence of Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, Director General at KHCF.

Carrefour Jordan has been supporting the KHCF since 2012 with an annual Ramadan campaign. By adding 100 Fils to the bills of customers who wish to participate in the campaign. Carrefour Jordan collected JD 145,000 in donations during this year's campaign, which were allocated to further support the developments of the recently inaugurated buildings of the King Hussein Cancer Centre, and accommodate greater numbers of cancer patients from Jordan and the Arab world.

Commenting on this partnership, Nisreen Qatamish said: "We are proud of our fruitful partnership with Carrefour Jordan, and we appreciate all the support Carrefour's dedicated customers are providing, especially in light of the increasing number of cancer patients resorting to KHCC. There's a need for collaboration and joining efforts now more than ever to fight cancer and save the lives of people.”

Mr. Alain Enjalbert, Country Manager of Carrefour Jordan, was very pleased with the collaboration and said: "This initiative is part of Majid Al Futtaim's CSR strategy to give back to the local community. It reinforces our vision of creating great moments for everyone every day, which is reflected today by our contribution to the fight against cancer and provide the best possible service to the patients suffering from it."
