KHCF Signs MoU with Jordan Kuwait Bank

Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Mr. Haitham Al Batikhi, Executive General Manager of Jordan Kuwait Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which the Bank will establish a goodwill fund in the Bank’s name to cover university expenses for high school (Tawjihi) cancer patients currently being treated at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC).

Over the past several years, the Bank has covered the university tuition fees for 45 students from KHCC. The establishment of this named goodwill fund is an expansion of this scope of work.

Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish expressed her appreciation and profound gratitude to the Bank for supporting this program, saying, "This cooperation helps us to provide comprehensive care to our patients by providing for their medical, psychological and academic needs as it will allow them to continue their university education without allowing illness to stand in the way of their academic success, despite the challenges they are going through.”

For his part, Mr. Haitham Al-Batikhi proclaimed his pride in the Bank’s work and support of KHCF and KHCC, noting that “Jordan Kuwait Bank’s establishment of the University Scholarship Fund for KHCC patients is a demonstration of our belief in the Foundation’s noble mission, its vital and sustainable role in the local community, and a manifestation of our own strategy and responsibility to our community.” He also expressed his happiness at strengthening the partnership and cooperation between the two parties to unite efforts in combating and treating this disease, providing support to patients during their fight against cancer, and efforts to integrate patients into the local community.

The scholarship program is one of many programs at KHCF which support underprivileged "Tawjihi" students at KHCC who need financial support to pursue their university studies or vocational training.
