KHCF Launches “Go Green Against Cancer” Campaign

Amman, September 2026 – The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) has launched an awareness campaign titled “Go Green Against Cancer” to raise community awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and highlight the direct impact of environmental pollution on health. The campaign focuses on the importance of combating smoking in all its forms and reducing air pollution, both of which contribute to higher cancer rates.

The campaign coincides with World Environmental Health Day, observed on September 26.

Scientific research indicates a link between environmental protection and cancer prevention. Smoking is responsible for 80% of lung cancer cases, while air pollution is associated with 36% of deaths among lung cancer patients.

The campaign highlights the importance of taking steps to reduce environmental pollution, planting trees, and combating smoking in all its forms.

The campaign is supported by Cairo Amman Bank, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Health. It includes awareness-raising activities across different parts of the Kingdom, with the aim of promoting positive environmental and health practices among individuals and institutions.
