KHCF and JPMC Launch Mobile Clinic Project in Southern Governorates

Amman, September 2026 – The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), in strategic partnership with the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC), has launched a mobile clinic project for the early detection of breast cancer, aimed at improving women’s access to screening and early diagnosis services in the southern governorates of Jordan.

The project is being launched as part of an agreement previously signed between KHCF and JPMC, under which, JPMC became a strategic partner in supporting the project. The partnership will help expand the reach of early breast cancer detection services and make them more accessible to women in the southern governorates of Jordan.

The project was launched in Ma’an Governorate in the presence of H.E Mr. Khaled Al-Hajjaj, Governor of Ma’an, Dr. Mohammad Al Thneibat, Chairman of JPMC’s Board of Directors, Eng. Abdul Wahab Al-Ruwad, CEO of JPMC, Dr. Asem H. Mansour, Director General of KHCC, Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, Director General of KHCF, and representatives of official, local, and relevant institutions.

Dr. Thneibat affirmed that the company’s support for the project stems from its national responsibility and its belief in the leading humanitarian role played by KHCF in providing comprehensive care to cancer patients.

He noted the company’s readiness to continue supporting KHCF and assisting in the implementation of its plans to expand healthcare and treatment services for cancer patients across the Kingdom.

Dr. Thneibat also expressed JPMC’s pride in its partnership with KHCF and its contribution to the Foundation’s efforts to provide a supportive healthcare environment for cancer patients. He underscored the importance of concerted national efforts to ensure access to treatment and care for cancer patients, and to support underprivileged cancer patients as well.

Dr. Thneibat also commended KHCF’s role as a leading national institution and humanitarian beacon dedicated to treating cancer patients, as well as its provision of advanced and specialized medical services in accordance with the highest international standards. He also praised its leadership and staff for their dedication to fulfilling their humanitarian mission and serving patients.

For her part, Mrs. Qatamish expressed KHCF’s appreciation to JPMC for its support of the project, noting that the partnership demonstrates the importance of coordinated national efforts to promote breast cancer early detection and expand access to screening services, particularly in the southern governorates in Jordan. Such efforts contribute to detecting cancer at an early stage and improving the chances of treatment and recovery.

As part of its support for the project, JPMC is providing KHCF’s mobile clinic with a mammography machine, enabling the delivery of breast cancer screening services to women across the southern governorates.

The project aims to reach approximately 334,000 women in the governorates of Ma’an, Tafilah, Karak, and Aqaba, while enabling nearly 700 women to undergo high-quality mammography screening through a mobile clinic travelling across the four governorates.

The project also includes awareness-raising and community activities to promote the importance of early detection and encourage women to undergo regular screening. In addition to supporting local healthcare and community workers, strengthen health awareness and education efforts, and provide reliable data to support planning and the development of health policies related to breast cancer early detection.

The launch of the project builds on joint efforts to strengthen breast cancer prevention and early detection, expand access to screening and diagnostic services, and bring specialized healthcare services closer to women in the southern governorates.
