KHCC Recognized Among Leading CAR-T Cell Therapy Centers in the Middle East by Medical Tourism Magazine

Amman – Medical Tourism, a specialized international magazine, has ranked the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) among the leading centers in the Middle East for Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy. The recognition is based on several key criteria, including the Center’s contribution to international research and clinical trials, the development of advanced immunotherapy infrastructure in line with the highest global standards, and its scientific partnerships with prominent medical and research institutions in the United States and Europe.

CAR-T cell therapy is an advanced form of immunotherapy that involves collecting T cells from a patient, genetically modifying them in specialized (GMP) laboratories, and reinfusing them to enable precise recognition and targeted destruction of cancer cells. This innovative approach significantly improves the chances of eliminating tumors and reduces the risk of disease relapse.

This therapy is considered one of the most advanced and effective treatments for a wide range of cancers, particularly those resistant to conventional therapies such as chemotherapy and radiation. It has been shown to increase cure rates and treatment response while minimizing side effects, thanks to its ability to target cancer cells accurately without harming healthy tissue. At this stage, KHCC will apply this treatment to treat leukemia and lymphoma, and in later stages it will be applied more widely.

In recent years, the King Hussein Cancer Center has continued to invest in the establishment of advanced cell processing and manufacturing facilities that meet the highest international standards. The Center has also expanded its specialized immunotherapy laboratories and trained highly qualified Jordanian medical and research teams to implement the latest CAR-T treatment protocols. These efforts further reinforce KHCC’s position as a regional leader in cancer treatment and medical research.
