HRH Princess Ghida Talal Participates in the 2015 Knowledge Summit in Dubai

Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, recently attended and participated in the 2015 Knowledge Summit held in Dubai, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. Organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, the 2015 Knowledge Summit was attended by numerous leading and prominent Arab and international figures, decision-makers, and thinkers, whose participation enriched this effort aimed at building a global movement towards knowledge-based societies.
 
HRH Princess Ghida Talal’s participation at the Summit included her keynote address at the opening of the “Scientific Research, Innovation, and Development” session. Her role as keynote speaker conveyed Princess Ghida’s keen interest in ensuring a proactive role in mobilizing support for the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, and in the fight against cancer in Jordan and across the Arab World. The Summit also included a series of sessions and panel discussions, which aimed to forge important inroads on the path towards developing the knowledge domain by encouraging innovation and enabling the dissemination and transfer of knowledge.
 
In her keynote address, HRH Princess Ghida Talal expressed her deep gratitude to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for its gracious invitation, saying, “I was extremely pleased to participate in a session that examined the role of scientific research in medical care services as part of the activities organized by the Knowledge Summit. I was particularly pleased with the discussions that ensued around the progress made by the King Hussein Cancer Center, which has earned high regard as a model of success in this domain, and the credit to which will ensure the progress and continuation of the comprehensive services that the KHCC provides to cancer patients from all corners of the Arab World. The Summit hosted and organized many important sessions and round-table discussions that allowed for the exchange of ideas between experts in various domains, while shedding light on the need for our Arab nation to enable our societies to adopt the ideals of innovation and creativity as a culture and way of life”.
 
It is worth noting that the theme of the 2015 Knowledge Summit in Dubai was “The Way to Innovation”, with this theme expressed through the discussion of major topics that included education and information technologies, scientific research, and innovation in the media and film industry. A leading group of experts and specialists in these domains discussed important progress made in these fields and the challenges facing development, in addition to the needs of Arab society that must be met to effectively disseminate and adopt the ideals and concepts of creativity and innovation as a way of life for all its individuals.
