Carrefour Supports KHCF for Breast Cancer Early Detection Campaign
Amman, October 2022 - In concurrence with the annual campaign for early detection of breast cancer, Carrefour, managed by Majid Al Futtaim group in Jordan, launched a fundraising campaign in cooperation with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and the Jordan Breast Cancer Program to support the Foundation’s efforts in spreading awareness about the significance of early detection of breast cancer.
This campaign, which will continue through October and November of 2022, will have Carrefour cashiers in all branches across Jordan encourage their customers to voluntarily add ten piasters to their bills to help cover costs of mammogram screenings for underprivileged women.
Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, Director General of KHCF, said, “Our continued cooperation with Carrefour has resulted in positive outcomes concerning our efforts to emphasize the importance mammogram screening for women, especially after the age of forty. This exam increases the possibility of detecting breast cancer in the early stages, thus improving the chance for successful treatment by up to 90%.”
