Lowest to Highest Against Cancer - LHxCancer

Introduction

LHxCancer was created by Mostafa Salameh back in 2012, where a team of 20 individuals helped raise funds and climbed to Everest Base Camp in April 2013.
The LHxCancer is an ongoing annual initiative that aims at raising funds and awareness for the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC).
Each year a different summit will be chosen as a destination and the expedition team members will be selected and trained to join this adventurous trip.

Fundraising

Funds generated from this expedition will be directed towards providing financial support to underprivileged cancer patients receiving treatment at KHCC through establishing a “Goodwill Fund” under the name of The initiative. Any donations raised from other future expeditions will also be placed in this named fund in order to ensure the Fund’s sustainability over the years.
Team members will cover all costs and expenses of any LHxCancer trips, while all donations are directed towards underprivileged cancer patients receiving treatment at KHCC.

LHxCancer – Europe Expedition 2018

The LHxCancer expedition for the year 2018 will be a climb to one of the highest peaks in the world at 5642 m, Mount Elbrus in Europe, to raise funds for KHCF and help support the treatment of underprivileged cancer patients undergoing treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC).

Mr. Salameh will embark on this climb with a group of prominent individuals from Jordan and the region to raise funds for KHCF.

The LHxCancer 2018 expedition will take place in August, 2018 for an expected duration of 13 days, and will be heading to Europe; therefore, the team is referred to as “LHxCancer – Europe”.

The expedition will be comprised of 11 individuals who will arrange fundraising activities, awareness sessions, media interactions and, of course, train hard for the climb.

About Mustafa Salameh

Mostafa Salameh is living proof that there is no such thing as an impossible dream. The son of a truck driver with 7 siblings, he was a waiter that had an unexpected dream one night, that he climbed Mount Everest. His friends and family thought he was joking when he announced that indeed, this is what he will do.

He quit smoking, started training, and discovered the "7 Summits" challenge, where ambitious climbers succeeded in climbing the highest peak on every continent. After hard work, training and selling his house and car to afford the trip, his dream came true: On May 25th, 2008, Mostafa realized his dream as he stood on the highest mountain in the world, becoming the first Jordanian to ever climb Mount Everest.

8 years from when he had the dream which awakened him to his destiny, Mostafa completed the "7 Summits" in October 2012, not only becoming the first Jordanian to do so, but also one of approximately 250 people in the world to have succeeded in conquering the highest peak on every continent.

Climbing mountains is not the only passion Mostafa holds dear to his heart; Mostafa is determined to serve as an inspirational role model for youth that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. He also works on raising awareness for cancer, working with the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) with patient activities and in fundraising, including the LHXCancer initiative.
