Amman, August 2024 - The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) signed an agreement with the Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) in the presence of HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC).

As per the agreement, ADC will donate USD 350,000 to support the infrastructure and development of the chemotherapy department at the King Abdullah II Building in Aqaba. In turn, the department will be named after ADC. The agreement was signed by H.E. Hussein Al-Safadi, CEO of ADC, and Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, Director General of KHCF.

Mrs. Qatamish commented, “We value ADC’s belief in our humanitarian mission and its interest in joining the fight against cancer, which requires the solidarity of all segments of society. Together, we can provide treatment and continuous support to the largest possible number of patients, many of whom have nowhere else to go.”

H.E. Al-Safadi commented: “The Aqaba Development Corporation is proud to support KHCF’s noble mission providing healthcare and treatment to cancer patients across Jordan. Our commitment to developing Aqaba’s institutions and facilities is a national responsibility to ensure access and quality of health care to all, especially those in the southern region.”

The King Abdullah II Building in Aqaba will provide necessary medical care for cancer patients from the southern governorates to reduce the burden of long travel to receive treatment in Amman. At the King Abdullah II Building, comprehensive care and treatment services will be provided to patients, including early detection services, chemotherapy, radiology, laboratory services, pharmacy, endoscopy, pain treatment, and home care.
