Seven Mountains Initiative Launches for 6th Consecutive Year

Amman, February 2024 – The “Seven Mountains” initiative, annually organized with the aim of covering treatment costs for underprivileged cancer patients and Gaza strip patients at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC), was launched for the 6th consecutive year.

During the initiative, a team of adventurers climb a mountain with the aim of raising 100,000 USD, which will be entirely dedicated to supporting cancer patients at KHCC.

The agreement was renewed by Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), and Mr. Louay Shomaly, School Principal of the International School of Choueifat – Amman. The fundraising goal was announced, and the initiative’s team members were introduced, consisting of 21 young adventurers. Moreover, this year’s mountain summits planned to be traversed were announced to be in Croatia.

Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish thanked the initiative’s founder and team members, stating: “The Seven Mountains Initiative embodies the spirit of challenge and voluntary work. Traversing the peaks of Croatia will contribute significantly to the support we give to cancer patients, especially children among them”.

Mr. Louay Shomaly stated: “This initiative was founded with the aim of giving young people the chance to support cancer patients and cement the spirit of social solidarity within them. We hope that this initiative will inspire others to support cancer patients in similar ways.”

This year’s initiative will be taken by the following adventuring students: Bana Abu Ghoush, Tamim Alshelah, Tina Abu Ser, George Afram, Zain Wathifi, Sama Amoudi, Adel Dougan, Omar Abu Ghoush, Omar Farouqah, Ghanem Al-Mahmeid, Fares Shehadeh, Farah Asfour, Farah Nabulsi, Faisal Nabulsi, Karam Assaf, Massa Qab’een, Muhsen Wathifi, Mahmoud Al-Khalili, Mahmoud Abu Samhah, Nour Al-Mahmeid, Yara Elayan.
