This specialized scope combines direct visualization with ultrasound to assess the respiratory tract and is widely regarded as one of the most effective tools for localizing and guiding biopsies of lung masses, including suspected lung cancers. It enables safe, minimally invasive tissue sampling, significantly reducing the risk of complications associated with unguided biopsies, and is considered the gold standard for evaluating and diagnosing lung malignancies. Since the arrival of our highly skilled bronchoscopist in February 2025, we have already observed a notable increase in procedure volume. We anticipate that this advanced device will benefit over 100 patients annually by reducing the time to diagnosis, improving diagnostic accuracy, and minimizing risks. It also enhances the effectiveness of other technologies in the endoscopy suite—such as navigational bronchoscopy—by making procedures more efficient, precise, and safer for patients. Given the time-sensitive nature of conditions like cancer, early and accurate diagnosis is not only beneficial but essential.
