The Nursing Quality and Patient Safety Unit at the KHCC Nursing Department coordinates the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of nursing performance data related to specified quality improvement projects within a patient care facility. The unit liaises with other managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly.
Nursing Sensitive Indicators (NSIs)
Nursing Sensitive Indicators (NSIs) require hospitals to take a look at patient outcomes that can be improved by attention to nursing practices and nurse staffing. Improving and ensuring consistent performance on these NSIs is squarely in the scope of the nursing practice. As nurses at KHCC are committed to maintaining high quality nursing care, NSIs are collected on unit basis. The Nursing Quality and Patient Safety Unit cooperates with all nurses from different units seeking opportunities for improvement and maintaining the exemplary nursing performance in patient care.
