HRH Princess Dina Mired is an Honorary Member of the Mediterranean Task Force for Cancer Control in Italy. This task force consists of responsible and reputed professionals, able to influence at their national level the appropriate institutions and bodies (lawmakers, health officials, voluntary organizations, etc.).
It was established in order to implement guidelines and actions reducing cancer mortality and the burden of advanced disease in the Mediterranean area, promoting the collection and use of information for professional and public education, increasing the proportion of Mediterranean citizens who have access to state-of-art cancer diagnoses, treatment, and palliative care and influencing policies and promoting programs and activities to eliminate disparities in cancer control in relation to gender, race, ethnicity, insurance and socio-economic status, and place of residence.
Representatives who joined the initiative include countries such as: Albania, Algeria, Croatia, Egypt, France (IARC), Greece, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Syria, Switzerland (UICC), Tunisia and Turkey.
