HM King Abdullah awards Medal of Independence to KHCF and KHCC:
In May 2012, His Majesty King Abdullah awarded the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center the prestigious Medal of Independence in recognition of the organization's life-saving work and their treatment of cancer patients from Jordan and the region in line with the highest international protocols of cancer care. HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, received the medal on behalf of KHCF and KHCC.
KHCC Accredited as WHO Regional Collaborative and Training Center: the King Hussein Cancer Center received accreditation from the World Health Organization (WHO) as a Regional Collaborative and Training Center for the Eastern Mediterranean region in the areas of pain management, cancer registries and early detection
KHCC Life Support Training Center affiliated with American Heart Association: The King Hussein Cancer Center’s Life Support Training Center (LSTC) is the first center in Jordan to be affiliated with the American Heart Association. Made up of a group of highly trained and experienced professionals in critical care, pulmonary medicine, anesthesia and life support training, LSTC offers courses approved by the American Heart Association and the American Society of Critical Care Medicine, as well as well structured nationally developed courses. KHCC’s LSTC has also worked with other organizations in the Kingdom to help establish additional life support training centers.
KHCC resident doctors score highest on competency exam: In 2009, KHCC resident doctors scored the highest among over 400 North American residency programs on the competency exam of the American College of Physicians. This major accomplishment emphasizes KHCC’s exceptional high standards of excellence.
KHCC Cancer Registrars certified by National Registrars Association: In December 2009, two Cancer Registrars at KHCC were certified by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) in the United States, making them the only two Cancer Registrars currently working in Jordan.
