Symptoms
The following tables show the early symptoms for some types of cancer.
a- BREAST CANCER:
- A lump in the breast
- A lump in the axilla
- Change in the color or feeling of the skin of the breast
- Nipple discharge
- Change in the direction of the nipple or nipple inversion
b- CERVICAL CANCER:
- Repeated vaginal infections
- Spotting after intercourse
- Inter-menstrual bleeding
- Severe menstrual bleeding
- Lower abdominal pain or backache
c- COLO-RECTAL CANCER:
- Change in the bowel habit
- Unexplained diarrhea or constipation
- Sense of incomplete evacuation of the colon
- Repeated abdominal pain
- Loss of weight
- Anemia
- Blood in the stool
d- PROSTATE CANCER:
- Difficulty in passing urine
- Passing urine frequently, day and night
- Blood in urine
- Weak stream of urine
- Burning during urination
- Impotence
- Painful ejaculation
- Pain in the lower abdomen or back
e- SKIN CANCER
- A mole or nevus that is bleeding or has experienced a change in size, color, texture, or surface appearance.
- A wound that does not heal
- A new dark nevus
f- TESTICULAR CANCER
- Appearance of a painless swelling of the testes that doesn't disappear over time
g- NON-SPECIFIC SYMPTOMS:
- Unresolved cough or hoarseness of the voice
- Difficulty swallowing or gastric pain
- Appearance of a lump anywhere on the body
- Appearance of bruises on the body
- Bleeding from the mouth, nose, gums, or vagina
- Unexplained loss of weight
- Changes in pre-existing nevi
- A skin wound that doesn't heal
- Changes in bowel or urination habits
*Any unexplained changes in the body should be reported to a doctor. Otherwise, the international guidelines for cancer screening should be followed.
